Preparing the batter
Prepare the batter by mixing the crushed rice, flour, semolina, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon ghee, zarda coloring, salt and egg with 1½ cups of water in a large bowl.
Preparing the filler
- Keep aside 3 tablespoons of NESTLÉ EVERYDAY milk powder. Dissolve the rest of the NESTLÉ EVERYDAY milk powder in water and boil until it thickens.
- Now add 1 tablespoon of crushed rice, 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of ghee to the NESTLÉ EVERYDAY milk powder which is kept aside. Mix everything well.
- Now add small quantities of the thickened liquid NESTLÉ EVERYDAY prepared earlier to this mixture to create a thick filler (khirsa).
Preparing the patishapta
- Heat a pan and brush it with oil. Now pour 1 tablespoon of the batter on to the pan and spread it into a circular shape, like a chapatti bread.
- Now add 1 tablespoon of the filler (khirsa) on top and wrap into a patishapta shape.
- Make the rest of the patishapta pieces in a similar way and serve.
